I want to congratulate Finance Minister Jim Flaherty for being named Finance Minister of the year from a group of his peers in Euromoney Magazine.
"The finance minister has enhanced his country’s reputation for sound fiscal policy that takes full account of social justice, while a strong regulatory regime has kept the financial sector out of the chaos. Helen Avery reports. "
Way to go, Mr. Flaherty, keep up the good work!

Tories surging, Grits tanking
The latest public opinion poll from Strategic Counsel has the Conservatives ahead the of Liberals 13 points nationally. Not good news for the Libs.
Cons 41
Libs 28
NDP 14
Even more dismal for the Libs is the Ontario numbers that have the CPC well ahead of the Libs by 16 points!! 46 per cent versus 30 per cent WoW!
Are the Liberals really sure they want to pull the plug and plunge us into a very much unwanted election only to be creamed?
Do they really want to commit political suicide?

Lack of Common Sense Run Amok
Nanny State Gone too far, a case where the state went a little too far.
Two female police officers from Britain have been accused of breaking the law, caring for each others kids. They apparently were babysitting each others kids for more than two hours a day and it goes against their Child Care Act. Moms have being caring for each others children from the beginning of time.
Children are a responsibility of the parents NOT the state. Parents know better what is the best for their children. The state should keep their nose out of the business of the family except in the very few cases where real child abuse is taking place.
Where is the common sense in all of this? .
I fully support these ladies in their effort to get this particular law repealed and allow parents to make decisions concerning the care of their children the way they see fit and not get penialized by the state.
Just pray there is not such a law comes to this country.

Big Bird calls out First Lady on Barack Obama's birth
This is hilarious. Big Bird calls Michelle Obama out on her husband's birth and birth certificate. Have a look.
The Hidden Agenda Revealed?
Our PM Harper wowed the National Arts Gala last night playing the piano and singing a Beatles song, "With a Little Help from My Friends"
He apparently got a standing ovation too. Could have we been hiding a Beatle in Canada all these years? That's what must be the Hidden Agenda.
Who says PM Harper doesn't care about the arts?
Obivously he does care and is very talented to boot.
Our PM always keeps amazing me and makes me proud. Leading at the UN and G20 a week ago, now this. He seems at ease and having a lot of fun. He's not at all cold and angry like the Liberals and the MSM have been telling us all these years. Even the media are praising the PM for his performance last night.
I think it's the Liberals that are angry and cold these days.
No matter what you tell the public about the PM being mean spirited they are not going buy it anymore. Especially after last night!
Kudos PM Stephen Harper keep doing what you are doing. You're doing a great job and many Canadians are proud of you.
