While Jack is Away, Two of His MPs Go Ballistic

WOW!!!  While NDP leader Jack Layton is in the hospital recovering from major hip surgery, two of his MPs go ballistic.  Are these two guys trying emulate Charlie Sheen or what? First you have Pat Martin having a meltdown while bullying a female Conservative MP.  Candice Hoeppner did great job standing up to him by the way. She conducted herself very classy.  Just imagine if it were a Conservative white male acting like this towards an NDP  or a Liberal woman. On the eve of International Women's Day to boot.  That's  even more disgraceful. Pat Martin needs to publicly apologize to Candice Hoeppner for his unacceptable behavior.

Then you have Thomas Mulcair losing it when being interviewed by QMI journalist Brian Lilley. Lilley was asking him if he was after the bosses job.  Jack better watch his back.

What are these two thinking?  It's not the way you would want an "honorable member" to act. They are a disgrace to Parliament.

Just imagine if it were a Conservatives  acting like this.  Well, there would be hell to pay and rightly so.  It would be the lead story in every news outlet as well with cries for resignations.  Both these MPs are in serious need of professional help for anger management in my opinion. We can only hope they will hear an earful from their constituents and their leader.

  1. Two old white men verbally abusing a female conservative MP with CBC's Evan Solomon cheering them on.
Does anyone else see a pattern here?

  3. Surprisingly, polls show that the NDP main supporter is highly educated women.

The media lets the NDP off all the time,
because they are considered insignifcant in the big picture.

But these 2 raving fools were likely destined for cabinet positions in the 2008 coalition of losers.
And, both will no doubt make a run at the NDP leadership.

  4. Not one media person had a story on it today either. They were quick on the draw to get pics up on NNW of Bev Oda with a cigarett though, and a ton of stories were written by the Liberal media and it was on CBC for a solid 2 weeks and they are still talking about a NOT. Its okay to attack a Conservative woman by the media but its not news though when one from the Coalition parties attacks a Conservative woman on CBC.

  6. I have written to the CBC Ombudsman. Spirited comment and debate is one thing but for Solomon to allow Martin to insult, bully and name-call was more than just "over the top". Perhaps this kind of thing is part of his past as a union leader but should not be allowed in civilized society. All Solomon could do was utter "strong language". That is not good enough, he or the producer should have silenced Martin. I have never seen such an ill-mannered and boorish display. Ralph Goodale who listened to Martin's tirade was very clearly uneasy and embarrassed. Shame on Solomon and the CBC.

  7. >Surprisingly, polls show that the NDP main supporter is highly educated >women.

There is nothing surprising about the intelligentsia left, in which women are typically "over represented".

  8. Aw. And after smilin' Jack had done such a good job of giving the NDP a lighter, happier, friendlier face, these union goon-squad types have to break free from their leash and show everyone the 'other' face of the NDP. The only people that kind of behaviour impresses are already party faithful.
