One day the CBC won't get the Sun's entire annual TV budget -- $20 million -- in a single week. Seriously, do the math: with a billion dollars a year, the CBC burns through the Sun's yearly expenses every seven days.

James Moore, Maybe The State Broadcaster Should Catch Your Ire Too!
Vancouver punk band,Living With Lions has caught the ire of James Moore, Heritage Minister. In their new album they mock the Bible. It's deplorable and as a Christian, I do find it offensive and we should not be funding crap like that. James Moore is right in criticizing this group. Why we are funding artists period is beyond me!
Everyone should load up PM Harper's e-mail until he removes this bozo from the Heritage post.

ReplyDeleteI hear ya,Erick. I fully agree. Maybe Moore should sit in the back benches?
Better yet,why don't we scrap the whole Heritage department? I don't understand why we need it anyway.

ReplyDeleteYou got my vote on this, frmgrl!
Lets fund the cbc the way political parties were funded at 2.00 per vote, give them 2.00 per viewer. And cut all funding to wannabe artists. Quebec would cry but what else is new.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you think,MaryT! Fund CBC by $2.00 per viewer, love it! And yeah,no matter what ya do,Quebec will never be happy. To that I say,Quebec,if you want to leave,go ahead but don't expect a parting gift from the ROC when you bid adieu.
ReplyDeleteHow about the CBC be funded exactly the same way Sun TV is funded? That's right, not one darn nickle from the public purse!
ReplyDeleteEven the concept of $2.00 per viewer is still too much money for what we get in return.
I think the CBC (and the Wheat Board) are the last hold outs of a very old way of thinking.
Canada is not a primitive cluster of a few cities along the St. Lawrence River any more. We are also a lot more than a scattering of Hudson Bay trading posts beyond the la-la lands of Toronto and Montreal. It's time that the CBC is axed for good. We dont need a nanny state broadcaster to bring so called culture to the masses. with broadband and satellite available across this nation, I'd prefer to seek out my own cultural edification than to have it government mandated for me.
This is very reminiscent of when Air Canada had the monopoly and the rest of the air carriers had the crumbs, except hardly any one is actually flying "Air CBC".
