The Calgary Herald reports numbers revealed yesterday say that our CO2 emissions went down since 2008
The Stelmach government and Alberta oilpatch -- often painted as the environmental laggards of Canada -- received a few doses of good news Thursday, with new data showing provincial greenhouse gas emissions have fallen, as Ottawa further delayed cap-and-trade plans.
Numbers released Thursday by the federal government reveal Alberta's emissions decreased nearly one per cent in 2008 from the previous year (most recent data available) to 244 megatonnes, after substantial increases in recent years.
Well, Alberta bashers, what have you got to say now, are we still evil? Are we still the bad guys? Is the eastern press reporting this? If not why not? I haven't been able to find anything in the eastern press on this. The Calgary Herald article was the only one. Where is rest of the media? Maybe because it tells a different story about Alberta. Guess there's nothing in it they can turn into a scandal.
