It's the Soldier

Here is a poem I came upon today. I thought I would share it with you as we think about what our soldiers have done and are doing for us.

IT IS THE SOLDIER

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

There can never be enough gratitude that we could ever show the brave men and women in uniform who have sacrificed so much for us.
Thank-you and God Bless!

  1. Thankyou FRMGRL for posting those words of inspiration...and thankyou brave soldiers for your selfless giving to this country:our home.

I believe that Canada stands on the threshold of being a true beacon to the world with a PM the likes of which I don't believe we have seen before.
Its not that Mr Harper or his cabinet don't error from time to time...it is that our PM loves this country enough to desire it to be steered to greatness at perhaps great risk to himself.
Mr Harper commands respect because he gives respect to those deserving both at home and on the international stage.

This is my home. I hope you respect it. I will not tolerate profanity or anything that is not suitable for family consumption.
