What is Wrong with the GG's Husband?

Where does he get the nerve?  Governor General Michaelle Jean's husband
Jean-Daniel Lafond had the audacity to suggest that the Queen shouldn't stay at Rideau Hall but should instead stay at hotel.  Was she supposed to find a room at the Travelodge or Super 8?
OTTAWA – Jean-Daniel Lafond didn’t want the Queen to bunk at Rideau Hall when the monarch visited the nation’s capital last week, QMI Agency has learned
Her Majesty has stayed at Rideau Hall every time she has visited Ottawa ever since before she was Queen when she was still a princess.
The Queen has bedded down at Rideau Hall any other time she’s ever visited Ottawa, beginning in 1951 when she was then Princess Elizabeth.
Mr. Lafond should have been honored to have the Queen stay at the residence that he was living at temporarily.  The residence does not belong to him. Obviously, he's not very gracious.
I'm glad Ms. Jean didn't have anything to do with this.
Jean apparently had nothing to do with Lafond’s odd request.
The arrogance of this man, who does he think he is?   The current GG's gig is up at the end of the summer. He'll have to find other digs.  I'll be sorry to see Michaelle Jean leave but not him.  She has done an excellent job in her term as GG and I thank her for her service.   Her husband, he seems to be a jerk!

  1. I thought Rideau Hall was the residence of the Queen and the GG was allowed to stay there as her representative. I am very surprised that Jean-Daniel Lafond did not know this. They must have been rolling their eyes at Buckingham Palace.

  3. He's an utter failure of a separatist. I wouldn't get worked up by anything this man says.

  5. Your post covered the subject much better than I could express it. Thank you and you have a very interesting looking site. I came through a link at SDA and will be back regularly.

  6. This says more about the G.G.'s moral yardstick to pick the father of her children. She made a bad choice which is in line with her past to flee her homeland and people to get rich in canada while playing the oppressed victim of white-folks. The CBC filled their quota of non-whites by chose a immigrant over a canadain born non-white,CBC even hired a non-white but they were from Africa and this begs the question why the CBC won't hire Blacks born here?

She married a moron/loser ,replace her and stop playing the PC game to give minorities jobs to placate them and avoid riots and firebombings as if that's what would happen if a white person got the job.

For every abusive husband there is a female that married the loser and jerk, the G.G. was attracked to someone with her views. I'm sure her Book will bash canada and the Queen while she demands more Aid for her Homeland.

  7. He is now denying he ever said such a thing.
I hope the individual who broke this story will file an affidavit to attest to the quote and sue him for defamation.

  8. Lets get a grip here. I am not defending the Separatist Lafond but this appears to be a hatchet job by David Akin. Lafond has denied the accusation. If this is true then he should have revealed his source. I want Sun TV News to be different in its reporting of politics in Canada. If this is going to be more of the same then I want no part of it.

  9. Having had an opportunity to attend a garden party at Rideau Hall, and given a tour of the residence, I know there is an apt set aside for the Queen, we toured it. It was filled every day with fresh flowers, fruit and food, in case She come.
Did the idiot think the Queen would sleep in his bed. We did not get a tour of the GGs private space. But the parts we did see was beautful.

  11. I enjoyed the comment about him being an utter failure as a separatist. That's one of the many galling aspects of so called separatists - they're cowardly and pretty much all talk!

  12. Another boy toy gadfly, looking for attention from his
separatist buddies In Quebec. Behind his wifes dress yet. Kind of like a Jihadi nobody, spitting on a Israeli flag to count coup. Good catch. Nice post.
    Makes him feel big.

  13. Statement from His Excellency Jean-Daniel Lafond:

"Since her appointment as Governor General of Canada, my wife, Michaëlle Jean, and I have had the pleasure of welcoming several members of the Royal Family to Rideau Hall, notably His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, with whom we got along quite well. The current allegations are completely unfounded, given that we warmly welcomed Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh right before we left Canada for our visit to China, and wished them not only a wonderful visit to the country, but also a lovely stay at Rideau Hall. And it was in that same spirit that we bid them farewell in Toronto upon our return from China, and that, with great appreciation, we received their tokens of friendship. I therefore vehemently deny the insulting and ill-intentioned remarks that have been attributed to me."

Let's see David Akin name his source. Or shall we take the word of the MSM and a person who hides behind the cover of anonymity over the viceregal consort of Canada?

Your stupidity is exceeded only by your stupidity.

  15. I was initially outraged, but now that I see Lafond's denial, I can't help but wonder who is behind this. At an earlier point the separatists had it in for the couple because Jean accepted the position.
