Should We Have Heterosexual Pride Day?

The gays have their pride day, why shouldn't we heterosexuals have "Heterosexual Pride Day" as well? Heterosexuals should be proud of their sexuality too.  Sao Paulo the largest city in South America has just a adopted a motion in their city council calling for Heterosexual Pride Day to be celebrated each December. (h/t) The Blaze
SAO PAULO (The Blaze/AP) — The city council of South America’s biggest city has adopted legislation calling for a Heterosexual Pride Day to be celebrated on the third Sunday of each December.
I have nothing personal against gays but I say if gays can celebrate we should too! It's not a matter of either/or, why not both? Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton,Calgary, Vancouver etc. should take a page out of Sao Paulo's book and adopt similar legislation.  We are a country of equality aren't we?

  2. We have family day here in our little town pop 9000.
The city closes down the streets we have a parade.
No weenie waggers, just hot dogs.
It's a good time everyone is welcome.
Did I mention we don't get a government grant?
That to me is really something to be proud of.

I don't either. You don't have to covort around half naked to celebrate your sexuality. You can be tastefully clothed and still express yourself. It can be an event that is suitable for children. It can be funded by individual and business sponsorships.

Hey,that's great Bubba! See you can have an event like that. And no government grant, even better.
There's no reason why every community big and small can't have such and event.

  4. Provided every group does it on their own dime, frankly I do not care. I strongly object to cities and towns being forced to have these events and even more strongly do I object to them being subsidised by us.

  6. Isn't EVERY day "heterosexual pride day"? And what is it with busy-bodies being concerned about what other people do or look like? If we're going to start making lists, there are a whole bunch of McDonalds and Walmarts that need to be shut down.

No. What wild leap of logic would lead you to that conclusion?

And what is it with busy-bodies being concerned about what other people do or look like?

What is it with a certain group of people being allowed to get away with such lewd sexual behavior in public? And what kind of irresponsible, self-righteous moron would think this is an event that young children should be brought to?

    Wow. Really?

I'm not even going to ask what that's supposed to mean....

  8. I don't really care what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms but when they are parading around naked in the street that's MY space and I DO care.

As far as McDonalds and Wal Mart ... WTF are you talking about? Go read Adbusters again & shut up.
