Hypocrisy in Copenhagen

Is this not the epitome of hypocrisy?

Copenhagen climate summit: 1,200 limos, 140 private planes and caviar wedges

Here:

"Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand," she says. "We're having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden"

"The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers
"

Doesn't make sense. This tells me it's not really about the environment. What say you?

  1. Thank goodness for the internet and bloggers. We get the best information and faster! I read over the weekend that Brazil is sending a 700 person delegation! Why? Does anyone know the numbers for Canada? If they are so concerned with the environment why isn't this being done by teleconferencing? I'm sure some tech savvy company could have arranged this meet, greet and graze festival for a smaller carbon footprint! Cheers.

  2. I agree. This whole thing is just insane. It seems like the whole world has gone mad.

  3. I notice how much coverage the MSM has given to these "limousine liberals". If there was ever a fitting term for these overbearing, elitist snobs this is it!
