What Should Be Done With Helena?

With all the troubles that Helena Guergis has been having lately, is it time for her to step aside? I am so sick and tired of the Helena and Rahim soap opera. If I want to tune into a soap opera, I might as well watch the Young and Restless or some other soap. Those at least are probably more entertaining, I don't know. I mean this is just getting ridiculous.

As the stomach churns, I have come to the conclusion that she should step aside, for the betterment of the government so they don't have to be distracted by this sideshow while they're trying to get things done. She should at least take a temporary leave from her cabinet post. She has real issues and needs the time to take care of them. Let one of our other fine women in caucus take over her files for awhile like for instance, Shelly Glover or Candice Hoeppner.

This for the media and the opposition is like a dog with a bone. They're out for blood. Let's not give them anymore ammo. There are so many important issues that should be focused on.. Like we still have our brave men and women in Afghanistan in harms way. There's immigration, justice and corrections problems etc to deal with. We all know the opposition and the media will hang on this story until something is done.

The sooner this is dealt with, the better. Maybe then we can move on and deal with those problems that need dealing with.

There, I had to voice my thoughts and get things off my chest. I am not going to post about the Helena, Rahim soap opera again. I will deal with the important issues of the day. Now, let's get on with other matters, shall we?

Update: Helena Guergis has tendered her resignation . h/t Lorraine

  1. I agree but if PMSH tosses her the opposition will be coming back for the blood of someone else who is having a "bad hair day".

But this couple is giving the ops something to do rather than cutting down our soldiers.

  2. If she would have a breakdown and cross the floor to the Liberals, I bet the attacks on her would stop.

  5. I don't necessarily agree. The media knows that if they harp long enough that her support will cave, even among us Conservatives. I personally haven't succumb to the constant bashing but I do see your point of view. For me....I say "piss on the media" and would never give them the satisfaction. I also want to make it clear, I'm not at all pleased with some of the things I'm reading, but I do consider the sources, and we all know how the MSM can spin, twist, trash and outright lie to try to bring a person down. Well I'm not going to get sucked in. The Liberals have been getting a free ride in the media for years for far worse shenanigans, so I'll stand by Helena for a while longer before I throw her to the wolves. Hopefully she'll come out of this all out skewering, a much wiser and stronger minister. I still have faith.
    PS
I'm too late...I just read, she's stepped down..

  6. Funny the comments of 'the sky is falling' from the tribe. Must be rough actually losing one in a blue moon. Life does go on for the rest of us though... we lose everyday. Start getting used to it. (real conservative)

  7. Excellent timing! Asking for her resignation right before she resigns? Either you are clairvoyant or you had insider information. If you are indeed able to predict the future, you should consider a career as a stock broker.

Do you think Helena read your post and changed her mind on resignation? It isn't impossible.

  8. Iceman, you're funny. No I'm not clairvoyant nor did I have inside information. It's just that I was sick and tired of the whole fiasco and wanted to see some kind of resolution rather than wake up each morning for weeks on end with Helena and/or Rahim as the top story of the day screaming for her head. I suppose it will go on for a while yet though before the talking heads in the media find something else.
No, I don't think Helena read my post, I think she read the writing on the wall with of all the crap that was hitting the ceiling and maybe was nudged a little by the PMO.

BTW. I'd be lousy as a stock broker. No.1, I find the stock market boring, No.2 It's hard enough keeping up with monthly expenses never mind the markets. lol

  9. Another thing, you don't have to be a clairvoyant to see this was coming for the last little while now.
