New Poll, Layton's NDP Now Tied With Lizzy's Greens

The gun registry vote has not helped the opposition parties. A new Ipsos Reid poll taken during the long gun registry debate and vote shows Jack Layton's NDP now tied with Lizzy May's Greens. Not good!  Both are at 12%.   There were some in the media who said the Liberals were winners in this. Sure looks like it, they lost 2 pts.  The CPC are up 1 pt.

Conservatives-35%
Liberals-29%
NDP-12%
Greens-12%
BQ-11%

They might have taken a different strategy which probably wouldn't have hurt them but too late now.  That's what you get when you nudge your members to vote contrary to voters wishes.   Me thinks there are going to be some MPs that are going to lose their seats when the next election rolls around.  Bring it on!

  1. I don't expect to see the major news outlets blaring this headline from the front pages or liberal hacks like Susie Delacourt or Rosie Barton twittering away about this poll!

  2. Right, but the Greens at 12% is total fantasy.

  3. Green support is maybe half that. So, you could probably add a point or two to each of the other three parties and you'd have a pretty accurate picture.

Kathleen someone was on Power Play just a short while ago trying to spin the drop, but it just doesn't fly.

  4. So was it the LGR fight,
or Flaherty warning about the coalition of losers?

    Both.
The LGR fight illustrated how the LibDipsBloq coalition will ram thru
    anything Montreal and Toronto want.

    The ROC? They don't care.
    The economy? They don't care.

Both Libs and Dips lost ground.
    CPC gained in Ontario.

A recent Quebec Leger poll stated that the CPC is at 21% and LPC at 22%

So I'm betting the CPC is closer to 38%.

  5. Yeah, I suspect it's going to get even worse for the Liberal/NDP/Bloc party. The CBC better get Frank (Gravy) Graves to manipulate another poll that says the Conservatives and Libs are in a "virtual tie". Time for the media to change the channel and co-ordinate another smear job with their comrades in the Liberal/Separatist party against the Government.

  7. EKOS always over-values the Greens, but the NDP at 12% is a big deal. I don't know how much this helps the Tories, it is likely great news for the Liberals.

  8. Wilson, which Leger poll had them at 21%? I saw one that had them at 17 or 18%.

  9. "A slight rise in Conservative support and a slight decline in Liberal support' in fact translates to an increase of 3% in the Tory lead. Sounds better to me than a slight increase of 1%.

  10. The CBC is really warped. It will only refer to polls that show the Libs in the most favorable position. There should be a national inquiry into the CBC and its bias!!

Hear! Hear! Inquiry into bias and also how they have spent our money! I could go for that!
