Well, What Ya Gonna Do Jack?

Election speculation started with Iffy last December and has been going on ever since.  Libs say they're not going to support the budget that's expected to be presented around March 22.   The Bloc are going to vote against it unless their blackmail demands are met.   It all comes down to Jack Layton and the Dippers.  Will they or won't they?  The ball is in your court.
I suppose it all depends on the polls and Jack your numbers are not looking too good these days especially in the latest Ipsos poll.
It has the CPC at 43%, majority territory, Liberals at 27%,rather stagnant, and NDP down to 13%.  Jack would certainly lose seats so why would he want to pull the plug?
This poll is nothing for the Liberals to write home about either.  In fact it has some Liberals feeling like they need a head transplant.
Will he, won't he, will he, won't he?  I guess we'll all be wondering and waiting with bated breath until that vote comes down and we actually see what Jack and his party will do.

  1. Who cares? Other than the waste of $350,000,000. No election...Mr. Harper continues to govern with a virtual majority. Call an election...Mr. Harper governs with an actual majority...
    WIN WIN for Canadians.

  2. Jack and his gang of socialists will do whatever will benefit them and their union buddies. The state of the country means nothing to them.

  3. "The state of the country means nothing to them."

    Exactly Anonymous or Rob C.
How many bills for the 'little guy' Socialist Layton like to talk about and for.. never bothered to vote for.

    The tune which the socialist use is very inviting;
    Free Healthcare
    Free Daycare
Free anything just as long you vote for him to get them.

Hugo chavez just recently told the poor who have lost their homes in a landslide that for them to get rebuilt or new homes, they will have " to vote for him".

Layton answers to the unions and no other, so you can imagine what the deficit would be if ever he , duceppe(marxist unionist and corrupt liberal take over this country. Around the 100+billion dollars range.

BTW. Hugo's media anwsers to Hugo just as CBC CTV etc answer to the liberals and coalition.

  4. Layton's playing chicken again and Harper's giving him just enough rope to hang himself.
    It's entertaining to watch.

I know how it turns out.
There is going to be an election.
I'm just wondering how Harper is going to pin the tail on the donkey.

Ignatieff hangs back and says he doesn't care what's in the budget, he won't back it.
Duceppe says buy me off and takes the back seat.
Layton, who thinks he has leverage, like it was a poker game, plays his opening bet.
    Harper calls.

And that would be fine if it was a regular poker game.
    It's not.
The players are not all of their own mind.
    The Conservative caucus is solid.
    The Bloc caucus is solid.
The Liberal caucus is not solid but they will vote for the leader in this instance if it means they can get rid of their leader.
    Leaving us the NDP caucus.
    And Hack Layton's hubris.

He extracted concessions from Paul Martin.
And he thinks he can do it again.
But he has a tendency to over reach.
    And Harper knows that.
Layton's coalition speech is just as fresh in my mind as the day it was done.
    It's still 2008.
Harper knows this and Layton doesn't.
