Watch For the Tired Old Hidden Agenda Card

As we approach the middle of the this election campaign, the Liberals are still well behind the Conservatives in the polls.  One they always drag out is the "hidden agenda" card.

You know, abortion, death penalty, etc. Well it seems according to a poster over on Bluelikeyou, it's already started. H/T jon
jon says:
A week after various CTV reporters pressed PMSH to stop playing the coalition/hidden agenda card on Iggy, Roger Smith asks the PM if Canadians should fear that he has a hidden agenda to cut social programs.
The Liberal friendly media has already brought it out again.  They've been doing this for the last what five/six elections?

The old "hidden agenda" card, why they're dragging it out, I don't know. It's old, tired and doesn't work anymore. Canadians have witnessed the last five years that PM Harper and the Conservatives DO NOT have a "hidden agenda."  PM Harper has brought up repeatedly numerous times he's not going to pursue the abortion issue or the same sex marriage issue, or the death penalty etc.

Furthermore to Roger Smith's question about cutting social programs, PM Harper has already stated he's not going to do what the Liberals did in '90s which was cut transfer payments to the provinces for social programs etc.  So where's the "hidden agenda?"   Smells like desperation to me.

So no, there is NO "hidden agenda" like some would have you believe.

Maybe it's Liberals who should be asked about their hidden agenda with our military, coalition plan etc.
Time for a Conservative majority. Maybe it'll get rid of all this nonsense.

Expect more of the "hidden agenda" stuff  in the coming days.

  1. I hope everyone who can, records the debates, to correct all the biased coverage and sound bites we know the media will put out.
Their faux scandals are not working because we outed them before they made the news. Loved it today when the PM asked Terry to let him answer a question before asking another.
I do hope there are lots of ems teams on hand at the networks on May 2nd.
And why, when the ndp go down 1% the experts say it could mean a loss of 15 seats, but when we go up by 1% (or more) they say it might mean a one or two seat gain.
Pundits Guide has a good take on what is going on with the liberals. 17 incumbents in trouble.
Last debate we were blindsidded with the coalition, not this time. If all three coalition partners do not attack anyone but the PM it will be proof positive a deal has been made.
Just wonder how all those saying it wont happen will react when it does.

  2. Hidden Agenda is a loser for them. Harper has been at it for 5 years. Hidden agenda is actually a good lead in for the Liberal Hidden Agenda. Higher taxes all around, bigger more expensive government. They are hard on taxpayers and soft on criminals and terrorists. Easy.

  3. These reporters are not only liars they are rude to the P.M, only questions on the conservative budget but none on the Lib's. I hope Sun scope reaches to the masses and has a effect.

  4. The only hidden agenda in this election is the coalition.
The MSM is telling the truth about their hate for Stephen Harper. Jon Ibbitson admitted it on CTV Question Period today. They are not hiding their campaign to elect the coalition.

  7. Cutting 5% fat off $80bn of spending can and should be done without cutting transfers to the provinces re: healthcare.

Cutting subsidies to corporations and political parties,
cutting subsidies to international special interest groups,
selling off assets like mansions for Canadian ambassadors,
capping MPs use of such perks as free flights for families,
    long long list

  8. The fact is, the Liberals are the ones who slashed funding to healthcare when they were last in office. Having to pay that tab that the Liberals left unpaid is a big reason why the Conservatives didn't maintain big surpluses the Liberals are so fond of bleating about

  9. Talk about hidden agenda. See who the grits have parachuted into Cheryl Gallant's Riding. A bay street ambulance chaser who makes her living collecting fat fees showing big corporations how to raid their workers pension funds.

  10. Please, I demand the traditional Tory hidden agenda. Harper's going to sell all the water to George Bush and throw Grandma out in the snow.

  11. Liberals use this to excite the Liberal core who is probably coming up short so far in this election. Most other people yawn at this B/S. (real conservative)
