Fellow Albertans, We Go to the Polls April 23

Well, it looks like we're off.  Premier Nanny Redford dropped the writ earlier this morning. We go to the polls on April 23.
This election will shape up to be a very exciting, hard fought and probably one of the most important elections in Alberta history.  This time for a long, long time Albertans will have a real choice between the PC's or Wildrose.  The Liberals,ND's and the new Alberta party are not expected  to a big factor.

Issues that will most likely be front and center is health care, mainly the so called public inquiry that Alison Redford promised to call on doctor intimidation but instead has called one on cue jumping.  Education will be another one in which the PC's attempted to pass Bill 2 which calls for especially Homeschoolers to be under the Alberta Human Rights Act. Property right will be another big one and of course corruption and the sense of entitlement will be on the agenda.

The PCs have been in power now for 41 years.  They first got elected in 1971.  They have become old, tired arrogant and corrupted. They've mismanaged our money and our resources.  We need some new fresh faces with new ideas at the helm.   If you want a true conservative government,Wildrose is your best bet.  The PC's are in no way conservative in any way shape or form.  Don't be fooled. Just because they have "Conservative" in their title doesn't mean a thing.

I urge everyone to get informed. Don't just rely on the media.  Go and do your own homework. Visit each party's website, go to the debates and all candidates forums in your local area.  Get to know who your local candidates are and ask questions of each of them when they come to your door.

An informed electorate is good for democracy. So pay attention and don't let the candidates try and fool you. Decide where you want Alberta to go and vote accordingly.

  1. Did you hear her on Dave this AM? She is NOT going to resonate if she continues with that nose in the air inflection her comments ALWAYS appear to have. It indeed sounds like a 'Mother' with a very controlling, elitist edge. Excuses, excuses, excuses! Wasn't she there during all of these idiotic decisions for goodness sake?

The callers were awesome which leads me to believe, Calgary is going WRA. I'm so excited!

    1. I did listen this morning. I think you're right. I mean I find her very elitist too.

Yeah the callers were great. I remember a couple of weeks ago when Dave had her to comment on the health care inquiry and whether or not it was to to investigate the doctor intimidate issue, a caller basically said she was using "lawyer speech"

I think she'll have an easier time in REdmonton than in Calgary and the rural ridings.

  2. My daughter phoned me this morning and I told her there would be an election on April 23. Her answer, who were the mlas that got all that money for nothing, I will vote WRA.
My sign is ready to go up. I found redali very aggressive and almost abusive today, when she was challenged. I loved the guy who applied for a job and promised to do nothing for 48 months. I think that will be a big topic in the coffee shops and water coolers. It will take away their majority if not the govt.

  3. for me the issue of police finding you guilty and confiscating your car, all without a trial, exemplifies the loss of personal freedoms that the PCs seem to embody. unfortunately, I have no idea where the WRA stands on this issue

    1. Well you can ask your local WRA candidate when they come to your door or you can attend an all candidates forum in which I'm sure there will be several.

    4. I went to the Wildrose website and discovered that their position is to repeal Bill 26, which is what I approve of. Having said that I have no objection to license suspensions after conviction but vehicle suspension unfortunately impacts more than just the driver, particularly if the driver is not the registered owner.

      Thanks for the suggestions.

    6. It is possible for Wildrose to win this thing but it's going to take a lot of hard work. Get out and volunteer for your local Wildrose candidate, donate some money, talk to everyone you know to get the word out.
