Seems like Justin has stolen a lot of
PM Harper's policy on First Nations Education
Trudeau's plan would invest more per year in First Nations education
than what the Conservatives have promised to date, and would accelerate
infrastructure spending.
That's not the only thing he's copied, kinda. Yesterday while campaigning in Regina he came pretty to
close to plagiarizing line from a speech President Obama had given in 2012.
At a campaign stop in Regina on Wednesday, Trudeau said: “We’re
proposing a strong and real plan, one that invests in the middle class
so that we can grow the economy not from the top down the way Mr. Harper
wants to, but from the heart outwards.”
A transcript of Obama’s April 2012 speech at The Associated Press
luncheon — which can be found on the White House website — says: “This
congressional Republican budget is something different altogether...It
is antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and
upward mobility for everybody who’s willing to work for it; a place
where prosperity doesn’t trickle down from the top, but grows outward
from the heart of the middle class.”

DeletePM Harpers plan was 1.9 BILLION with an increase annually of 4.4%...which was turned down by the chiefs resulting FN Chief Shawn Atleo to resign . Trudeau said Harper didn't spend 2 billion for first nations. DUH...they didn't want to account where they spent the money. Trudeau's plan is 2.6 BILLION OVER 4 YEARS!!!! No accountability, so if Chief Teresa Spence gets elected as grand Chief with no accountability, wonder where the money will go?Same old Liberal Govt. Just throw them money for their votes and see the people living in shacks while the chiefs drive caddy's.

ReplyDeleteIndian status is the root of the problem. Never a good idea, it is well past time when it should be scrapped, with deeply-felt apologies and generous reparations for the appalling toll that condescension has wreaked upon our indigenous citizens. Reparations will give them the help they need to get their lives and their children's education in order.
ReplyDeleteI agree we need to scrap the Indian Act. Get rid of the reserves. Make them integrate into society like the everybody else. It's way, way over due.
DeleteScrapping the Indian Act will only happen over the dead bodies of almost every Indian Chief in Canada. Just saw another story today,a B.C. Band has 96 members,Chief gets $240,000/year.
